Be Honest When Promoting A Network Marketing Opportunity

May 17, 2010 8:00 am

One of the biggest traps that many people fall into when trying to promote a network marketing opportunity is lying or exaggerating to others. Rather than being 100% straightforward and honest about the product, service and opportunity that they are describing, they embellish and say things that aren’t necessarily true. The most common reason for exaggerating about the merits of a network marketing opportunity is to compel people to sign up more quickly. However, this strategy backfires when the person does sign up and quickly realizes that you haven’t been completely honest with them.

Truth In Advertising

When you are completely honest and transparent with prospective recruits about your network marketing opportunity, it will pay off in the long run. Those people will view you as an upfront and dependable person, and will be much more willing to give you the benefit of the doubt in the future. In turn, they will be more willing to participate in your network marketing opportunity and can recruit others as well. Being on the level is critically important, even if it means missing out on a prospect here and there. Your reputation depends on your credibility, so don’t give people reasons to doubt it.

Let The Merits Speak For Themselves

The primary thing that people look at and consider when thinking about a network marketing opportunity is the success of the person who is trying to recruit them. If they see that you are doing well with your business and that you are happy with it, they will feel much more comfortable about signing on themselves. There should be no reason to lie or embellish when explaining your network marketing opportunity to other people – they should be able to see for themselves that it is a prime opportunity that they should act on right away.
