If you want your network marketing business to generate a full-time income for you, then you must take it seriously. It can’t be just some side business or some hobby you do away from your real job. It must be your main focus and something you identify yourself with. Your are a business owner, not some player in a pyramid game, or a door to door vitamin salesman, but a genuine business owner. You are building something valuable that can create a lifetime residual income and be your only source of income. Treat it with the respect it deserves.

The key is to treat it like this even when you are starting out and haven’t had much success. The sooner you make the decision that this is who you are, a network marketer that owns a business, the sooner you will see significant profits and a full-time income, even if you aren’t putting in full-time hours.

I am not saying to quit your day job or your traditional business so you can make network marketing your only focus. Believe me, it helps to have some money to build this business, especially online. But I am saying that if you can envision yourself as a network marketing business owner now, no matter what your situation is, and you work towards building your business on a daily basis, then eventually it will be your main source of income.

We’ve talked about the mechanics of building a network marketing business before here, by immersing yourself into Internet marketing, learning about your network marketing company’s products and compensation plan, and developing some sales skills. But the important thing is that you make network marketing the most important thing. Identify yourself as a business owner affiliated with whatever your network marketing company may be, whether it’s Amway, Herbalife, Shaklee or another. Your day job or traditional business is secondary, even though it’s nice to have in the short-term to have money to build your network marketing business with.

The most critical thing you can do today, right now, to jump start your network marketing success is to change your mindset. Change the attitude you have towards your business. You are a business owner first and foremost, and everything else is just temporary. Owning a network marketing business is the same thing as owning any other business, except with unlimited passive income potential. It’s time you treated it as such.
